RCCP PBEC Guidelines for Accreditation
This document is intended for use by those delivering and accrediting courses
that lead to registration in the following disciplines: Cardiology, GI
Physiology, Neurophysiology, Respiratory Physiology and Audiology.
This booklet explains the procedures by which RCCPPBEC Committee functions on
behalf of its parent body the Registration Council for Clinical Physiologists
and the Professional Bodies the Council represents. This booklet is a source of
reference for:
♦ Universities and colleges providing or intending to provide the
pre-registration degree for Clinical Physiologists.
♦ Curriculum development and course planning teams in Clinical Physiology.
♦ Curriculum development and course planning teams in Audiology (BSc and Post
Graduate Diploma courses).
♦ Those units, which are, or intend to be associated with the clinical education
component of degree courses.
♦ RCCP Accreditation Panel (RCCPAP), RCCPPBEC, RCCP and the Professional Bodies
it represents.
♦ Representatives of the RCCPAC who act for the RCCPPBEC.

Training Centre Guidelines
These guidelines are designed for training and assessment in the
workplace of Practitioner Training Programme students following the Modernising
Scientific Careers Clinical Physiology BSc Programme and are in line with the
Health & Care Professions Council, or equivalent, Standards of Education and
Training.
